1. Understand that it is not the end of the world.

Yes you may not be able to move on to the next level now but you need to understand that you will eventually. You can recover and pursue those dreams once you develop a strategy. After all, Thomas Edison, was rejected from school for his poor performance but he picked himself up and developed the light bulb. Understand that the disappointment is normal. Talk to a trusted friend or family member and take some time out to heal.

2. Look at all options

There are several options that you can take. You can choose to attend a full time school (public or private) Keep in mind that if you are unable to resit at your chool, this will be a bit costly since you will have to most likely purchase uniforms as well as books.

You can also choose to attend part-time classes. This is a cheaper alternative but it does have it draw backs. If you are attending part time classes, will you be working during the day? If yes keep in mind that it is difficult to mange work and school same time. If you are working during the week, perhaps it will be easier to schedule classes during the weekend. Also, you can engage the services of a tutor who will be able to work with you at your own pace as well as days and times that are convenient to you.

In addition to finding a place to study, you need yo decide when you will be resitting. If your grades were particularly bad, maybe it would be more beneficial to resit in June. If you generally have a fair understanding, January would be then other option. The point is, you need to assess your situation to move forward.

3. Learn from your mistakes

Where did you go wrong? What can you do differently that can help you to pass this time around? if you were not focused you need to find ways to settle down. If you procrastinated, think about creating a study plan to keep you on track. Your change in habits can lead to big rewards the next time around.

While no one wants receive disappointing results, understand that it is not the end of the world. With a little reflection and planning, you will be on the road to success the next time around.
